Healthcare Ministries

Welcome to the Healthcare Ministry Page!

Caring for others by word and deed is an exciting way to bring glory to God. As we love others in the name of Jesus, we are able to fulfill God’s mission in the world. At MCOTN the Healthcare Ministries offers many opportunities to join with others to reach out to people in our church and community and meet them during their time of need. You will enjoy participating in this ministry that is committed to showing Jesus’ love in so many tangible ways! We welcome you to join us as we strive to become the hands and feet of Jesus to the world around us.

What is Healthcare Ministry?

The Caring Ministry is for those who enjoy serving individually or with a group, showing love and care to those with specific needs. One of MCOTN’s core values is to have a caring fellowship. Healthcare Ministries helps to make this core value a reality. Card writing ministry, meal ministries, Parish Nursing ministry, and visitation ministries are just a few of the expanding ways we serve people and show them Christ’s love. If you enjoy being around people or enjoy knowing you are part of a larger effort while serving from your home, the Healthcare Ministry may be for you!

Card Writing Ministry

People are blessed by receiving hand-written notes from people in the church. Thank you notes are sent to our guests and prayer notes are sent to those who have expressed a specific prayer need. Cards may be written at home and church staff can provide assistance when needed. Contact Debbie Jones to join this ministry.

Help Barefeet Ministry

The mission of this ministry is to provide assistance to people within our congregation who have been impacted financially. To help, place money in an envelope, mark it “Barefoot Ministries”, and put it in the offering plate Our church also supports many Community Services who provide services to seniors, disabled individuals, and families in financial crisis.

Meals for Funerals

This ministry provides a wonderful service to families who have lost loved ones. On a rotating basis, volunteers prepare specific food items at home for MCOTN’s funeral receptions.

Mercy Meals

Meals are prepared at home and then delivered to those recovering from surgery or in the midst of a difficult trial. If you love to cook and bless others with a kind deed, you will enjoy participating in this caring ministry.

Parish Nursing Ministry

This ministry is for nurses who want to help people in our congregation navigate through the healthcare system, explain insurance benefits, Medicare, and physician referral systems or requests. Nurses and other medical personnel from MCOTN also provide services for church outreach events. Debbie Jones, an experienced nurse, leads this ministry. If you are trained as a nurse, physician, or someone familiar with the healthcare system, consider joining Parish Nursing Ministry. You may contact Debbie.

Visitation Ministry

The purpose of Visitation Ministry is to offer prayer and encouragement to people during times of hospitalization and extended illness. Visitation team members visit hospitals, nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as shut-ins on a rotating basis

Serving our Seniors Ministry

A team of people make periodic trips to the homes of widows and widowers in our church to assist with miscellaneous home and lawn projects
